Black-led Impact Organisations - The Lived Experience Report

Black-led social impact organisations operate in an environment of structural inequalities.

This report by Centre Black explores the lived experience of management and staff at Black-led impact organisations within the UK’s voluntary sector.

Funding closed

The £300,000 fund included contributions from Barclays, National Emergencies Trust, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, The Clothworkers’ Foundation and Comic Relief.

Black-led charities and social enterprises working in communities across the UK received grant packages of £5,000 or £12,500 to help them:
  • Get better informed about your options (moving to new methods of delivery) post-COVID19.
  • Develop new enterprising activities and earned income strategies.
  • Test the viability of specific propositions.
  • Develop clear implementable action plans for such activity.

In 2021, we funded 36 organisations supporting the development of Black communities

The awarded organisations address social challenges in areas such as; diversity & inclusion, education, health, youth empowerment, youth employment and more. The grant allows these organisations to continue  delivering transformative impact in their communities, and supports the long-term development of these organisations. ​
